Enchanted Gear

Gear now drops with random affixes, crafting can turn out Fine, Superior or Masterwork pieces, and you can dismantle and reforge at any forge.

Key notes

  • Enchanted gear: uncommon and better gear can drop with a random prefix and/or suffix, such as Swift Vinecutter of the Owl. There are 24 affixes in all: stat boosts, critical hits, dodge, lifesteal, bonus XP and better gathering. Champions add an extra roll.
  • Crafting quality: every piece of gear you craft can come out Fine, Superior or Masterwork, with bigger stats and affixes. The higher your profession is above the recipe, the better your odds, and the recipe list shows them. A Masterwork is announced to the whole world.
  • Dismantle: break gear down into materials. Enchanted, rare and epic gear also gives Essence (Faint, Clear or Radiant).
  • Reforge: at any forge, spend Essence and Scrip to add an affix or reroll one you don’t like.
  • Trade it all: enchanted pieces keep their affixes when you trade, mail, bank or stash them, or sell them on the market. On the market each one is listed on its own, so buyers can see exactly what they’re getting.
  • New feats: Salvager, Reforger, Masterworker and Treasure Hunter.
  • Fix: buying and selling on the market now unlocks as soon as you walk into a town, camp or home, even if the market was already open.

How affixes work

Common and uncommon gear holds one affix. Rare and better gear, and Masterwork crafts, hold two. Affix strength grows with the item’s level, so a level 35 of the Bear is worth having in the Spire.

Tap any enchanted item in your Bag to see its affixes in green. At a forge you also get the buttons:

  • 🔮 Enchant: add a first affix to plain gear.
  • 🔮 Reroll: swap one affix for a new random one.
  • 🔧 Dismantle: break the item down.
