Dawn of Eden v0.3: Carved & Clear

The v0.3 Content Patch Update for Dawn of Eden, the free browser MMORPG: hand-drawn woodcut icons, eight rebuilt themes, a legendary signature item and pet for every monster, armor sets every two levels, sounds and fight feedback, a damage meter, a market price chart, waystone fast travel, a new map, player inspect, daily rewards, weekly challenges, rested XP and much more.

Key notes

  • A whole new look: every emoji is replaced by hand-drawn woodcut icons, and there are eight rebuilt themes, each with its own fonts, shapes and textures.
  • Legends in every monster: each of the 110 monsters hides one very rare signature item (Legendary, or the new Mythic rarity for bosses) and a pet that fights beside you. Find both from a monster to earn its title.
  • Gear worth chasing: plate, leather and woven armor sets every two levels, special sets from the main story and side quests, and Satchel Expansion Coupons for a bigger bag.
  • Fights feel alive: hits flash and shake, crits pop, there are synthesized sound effects, rare loot gets its own pop-up, and a level-up banner celebrates the moment. A damage meter shows who did what.
  • Find your way: a hand-styled map with markers, fast travel between waystones, and a quest tracker that walks you through every step. You can also track monsters and world events.
  • Smarter market: a stock-market style price chart for every item, and sell rows that show whether you can use something and what it would change.
  • Better together: inspect other players, send gifts, use an emote wheel, and follow a welcome tour as a new player.
  • Reasons to come back: a 7-day daily reward track, weekly challenges, rested XP, and collection albums with titles.
  • News, and update alerts: a News section on the website, and an in-game banner whenever a new update is ready.

Looks: icons and themes

Every emoji in the game has been replaced with icons drawn in a carved woodcut style, from the tabs and buttons to the log, items and class crests.

The theme picker now has eight looks that differ in far more than color: Overgrowth, Bioluminescence, Emberforge (iron plates and molten buttons), Tidewater (frosted sea glass), Parchment (ink on paper), Frost, Neon Blight (scanlines and glow) and Rosewood Dusk (gilded velvet). Your old theme carries over automatically. Every theme was checked for readable text, and chat and log colors keep the same meaning in all of them.

Hover or long-press almost anything to see a themed tooltip that explains it: stats, rarities, set pieces, enchantments and status effects.

Monster signatures, pets and Mythic gear

Every monster now has:

  • One signature item, made for one class. It has fixed stats that beat anything else of its kind at its level. Bosses’ items are Mythic, a new top rarity.
  • One pet. Bring it along from Hero → Style. It nips at monsters in fights (never in PvP) and gives a small perk.

Both are very rare and roll for every player who shares the kill. The Bestiary’s new Monster Collection shows the odds and the title you earn for finding both.

Gear and sets

  • Armor sets every two levels for plate, leather and woven armor, dropping from monsters near their level.
  • Special story sets from the main quests at levels 10, 20, 30 and 40, plus side-quest-only sets. Quest pieces always match your armor type.
  • Satchel Expansion Coupons (Legendary, from the Harvest Moon vendor) add 10 bag slots each, up to 5 per character.
  • The market’s Sell tab now shows “You can use” and the stat changes for each piece of gear.
  • Price history opens a candlestick chart of any item’s sales, with volume, highs and lows, and the current listings.

Fights

  • Hit flashes, health bars that drain, and big crit numbers.
  • Sound effects for hits, crits, heals, loot, level-ups, quests and messages. Adjust or mute them in Settings → Sound.
  • Pop-ups for rare-or-better loot, and a level-up banner that shows your new skills.
  • A damage meter in the fight panel, and a summary card in the log when each fight ends.
  • Fight skills now show what they do.

Getting around

  • The map shows region-colored tiles with icons for waystones, dungeons, banks, shops and crafting stations, plus quest givers and monster levels. Markers show your quest step, tracked targets, party members and supply crates.
  • Waystones in every region’s hub. Visit one once, then fast-travel to it from anywhere outside a fight or dungeon.
  • The quest tracker follows your quest list one step at a time, and festival quests now have directions too. Track monsters from the Bestiary and world events from the event bar.
  • NPC windows close when you walk away or start a fight.

The log

Filter chips (All, Chat, Combat, Loot, System), plus optional compact fight rounds, timestamps and chat bubbles.

Friends and new players

  • Inspect anyone online to see their gear, title, guild and pet.
  • Gifts: send an item or Scrip to a friend in a couple of taps.
  • An emote wheel with twelve emotes.
  • A welcome tour for new characters, and tutorial steps that make the next button glow.
  • Next Up nudges ready players toward their first dungeon, and clears suggestions as soon as you finish them.

Coming back

  • Daily reward track: seven days of rewards, with a rotating cosmetic on day 7. Missing a day just pauses it.
  • Weekly challenges: three new goals every Monday, each with a reward, plus a bonus cache for finishing all three.
  • Rested XP: log out somewhere safe and your next monster XP is doubled.
  • Collection albums (Hero → Collect): Monster Collection, Wardrobe, Bestiary and Rare Finds, each with milestone titles.

Fixes

  • The market’s Buy tab no longer jumps back to Sell.
  • Class crest icons show again on the Hero tab and character screens.
  • Many hard-coded colors that were unreadable on light themes now follow the theme.
