A world after the Wilt

Three hundred years ago a blight called the Wilt swept the world. Cities emptied, and the vines moved in. Today the glass towers are green, the subway tunnels are flooded, and the last people live in Eden, a walled town that grew around a great tree whose roots keep the blight away. Mostly.

Something is stirring again. Monsters are getting bolder, a hive is growing in the marsh, and old secrets are waking under the drowned city. Eden needs people willing to go outside the walls.

What kind of game is it?

Dawn of Eden is a modern take on the classic MUD, the text-based online worlds that came before graphical MMOs. You read the world: every room has a description, people to talk to and things to do. Then you tap a button or type a command to move, fight, talk and trade.

It’s built for today:

• Tap or type. Every action has a button, so it plays great on a phone. Fans of the old style can type commands.
• Quick, tactical fights. Combat runs in rounds every 2.5 seconds. Queue skills, taunt the big monsters, heal your friends and watch for boss phases.
• A quest tracker that guides you. It always shows your next objective and points you to the next room.
• Eight distinct visual themes, from glowing deep-sea Bioluminescence to ink-on-parchment, and a layout that works on any screen.

Nine classes to choose from

Choose how you want to play:

• Warden: the shield wall, holding the line in heavy plate.
• Scavenger: quick blades, dirty tricks and bleeding wounds.
• Ranger: bows and old-world rifles from a safe distance.
• Tinker: gadgets and crackling wrenches from the world before.
• Herbalist: the healer who keeps the party standing.
• Rootcaller: commands the vines to bind and crush.
• Blightbinder: turns the Wilt’s own rot against its makers.
• Songweaver: music that strengthens allies and breaks enemies.
• Beastwarden: fights beside a loyal wolf, boar or hawk.

Better with friends

Dawn of Eden is a multiplayer RPG first:

• Parties with fair loot rolls, follow, auto-assist and target marks.
• Guilds with their own halls, a shared stash and guild chat.
• Dungeons and a ten-player raid, with private copies for your group and a Mythic difficulty for the brave.
• A rated arena for 1v1 and 2v2, with seasons and leaderboards.
• A world boss, the Mother Bloom, that wakes every two hours.

Plenty to collect

• Gear worth chasing: armor sets every two levels, special sets from the story, and enchanted loot with random affixes.
• Legends and pets: every monster hides one very rare Legendary (or Mythic) piece of gear and a pet that fights at your side. Find both for that monster’s title.
• Crafting and professions: smithing, cooking, carpentry, farming and more.
• Homesteads: your own house and garden to farm, decorate and share with friends.
• A real player economy: a market with price history, safe trades and mail.
• Festivals all year: Harvest Moon, the Long Night, Bloomtide and Sunfire, each with festive monsters, tokens and cosmetics.

Dawn of Eden is free to play. There’s no download and no pay-to-win. All you need is a free account and a browser. It’s made by FTVGames, a small independent studio, and we’re updating it all the time. Follow along in the devlog.

2. Sign in or create a free account.
3. Pick a class, a name and an origin.
4. Follow the tutorial in Root Square, and say hello in chat.
